FAQ
These questions and answers were composed by the leadership to answer questions commonly ask by guests thinking about joining the clan. These questions and answers are divided into sections.
If you're a guest:
1. What is ARPK?
ARPK stands for Anti-Random Player Killing. While the Wilderness was still in Runescape the meaning of ARPKing was that we went into the wilderness with the goal of fighting only those who wish to fight. (E.g. We would only attack those who are skulled, with expensive armor, or in large groups) Although the Wilderness no longer exists we still stand by this code. The true meaning of ARPK is to fight/act honorably in Runescape.
2. I'm a guest , but I can't reply or post. How do I fix this problem?
In order to post on Templar Guardian forums you must first register an account on the forums.
3. How am I sure that I've been accepted?
Once your application is accepted, a leader will change your rank from "Un-accepted Knight" to "New Recruit". As soon as this occurs you become a member of the Templar Guardians.
4. My account has been deleted, what do I do?
If your account was deleted from the forums, it was probably auto-deleted by the settings of the board. In order to post again, you must re-register and petition for additional posting rights if you had any (Clan Friend, Ally, Etc...)
If you're a new member
Keep in mind there are guidelines for newcomers
5. Once I'm a member, what are my responsibilities (if there are any)?
- Once you’re a member, you are to follow all requirements and rules that you accepted before you applied.
- Be sure to have yourself added to Runehead. Normally you will be added by leadership as soon as you are accepted, but please make sure you are and if you have not been added go to this topic.
- After this, be aware of any upcoming updates. All updates will be notified in the "Leaders Announcements/Updates" forum. Be sure to check up on this forum every so often. Make sure to post on the monthly census as well.
- And finally, as a member of the Templar Guardians, you are required to attend at least TWO Runescape events per month.
6. How do I get my rank up?
- Most questions on ranks should be answered in the "Ranks" link (one of the links below the banner).
- You start off as "New Recruit" and you make your way through “Initiate Knight” and "Knight" through post count. At "Knight", you are eligible for many kinds of promotions, divided in two sections: "Leadership" and "Upper Knight Ranks". Upper Knight Ranks are issued manually by the leadership to those they feel are trustworthy (you do not apply for these). Leadership ranks are issued in a similar fashion to Upper Knight Ranks, however very often there is also application forms that you need to fill out as well.
7. What is the monthly census?
The monthly census is monthly accounting of all active members currently in the clan. Every month, at the beginning of the month, a Grand Master/Co-leader/Council will create a thread that is the monthly census in "Leaders Announcements/Updates" forum. Your responsibility as a member of the clan is to post only ONCE in this topic. Just reply with your name, and maybe a little message. If you do not, and you did not have a reason, you will be kicked from the clan and your account will be deleted.
8. What are the council elections? Can I run for them? Can I vote?
The Council Election takes place in the "Leaders Announcements/Updates" forum. The council elections are held once every 3 months. Every election, we replace our current councils with new one's that have been chosen by all clan members through vote. One council election was on Nov. 2007, from there, you can tell that the next one will be in Feb. of 2008. The council elections will be started by the leadership, giving those of the rank "Knight" or higher a chance to apply. After all the applicants have submitted a application, the voting is initiated by the Leadership. All applications will be present where you vote. You are allowed to pick THREE people to vote for.
9. How do I become a co-leader?
Co-leaders are only selected by the leadership, mainly by the Grand Masters. No applications are needed, unless specially requested by the leadership.
10.) What are those images people have in their signatures with those random letters like P's, M's and T's? Am I allowed to use them too?
Those are TG medals. They are awarded to those who have earned them. If you want more information on the medals you can go here: Medal Page

Newcomers
Are you new to the clan? This FAQ page is designed to make your first days as a Templar Guardian a little easier, and at the same time make you a little more welcomed to the clan.
Knowing The Clan
Want to know what the clan is generally about? Click on
About Us
To better understand what the clan is about.
We also suggest you explore the website by scanning the forums, and reading the information on the website. If you have any questions, click on the
Question and Help
forum, where the older more knowledgeable members could help. You can also get some of your questions answered by looking through this guide, or by PMing a member of high rank.
Making Yourself Known
To make yourself be known to the rest of the clan, we highly recommend that you post about yourself in the
The 'New Members'
forum. The forum was designed for new members to socialize and meet the rest of the members. It is recommended you have your username the same as your Runescape name
Another very useful way to get to know the members of the clan is to enter our chatroom on IRC. Details about IRC are given to you within this guide.
Runescape
After you’ve known the clan, it is now time to become active on Runescape. The best way to interact with the people of this clan is to add all Grand Masters, Councils, and Event Marshals to your friends list on Runescape. Don’t be afraid to contact us. Also, you should go to the
Event Schedules
forum. This forum is where all the events are organized by the Event Marshals. When there is an event that interests you, read the details of the event, and if you’re fairly sure you are able to make it, state your Runescape name and tell people to add you. If you’re going to this certain event, it is highly recommended you get a
team 9 cape, and make sure you add everyone who is at the event, so there won't be confusion.
After you are validated by a Grand Master, your rank is now set to “New Recruit”. This is a low rank, but it doesn’t mean we don’t care about your input and suggestions. The more you post, the higher your rank goes. This is done automatically. The higher your rank, the more likely you may obtain a job in the political section. The political section is where members help run the clan. To get a job in the political section go to the
Leaders Annoucements/Updates
forum and apply for a position that may be available. If there are no positions available, you may contact Co-Leader or Grand Master to ask if you can be given a promotion.
Also please inform the Grand Masters and Councils of your status in the clan. If you're going to be away for a while, inform us how long you will be inactive. If you feel this isn’t the clan for you, please post that you are leaving. Post your status in the
Your Status
forum.
We hope you enjoy yourself as a member of the Templar Guardians.

Events
Welcome to the events page. This page was designed to organize all information you need to know for events. Special thanks to all Event Marshals.
Event Marshals
Just so you know, our event section is run by the Event Marshals. The Event Marshals are in charge of organizing and running all events on Runescape, and organizing and running the "Event Schedule" section of the clan's forum. Whenever taking part in any events hosted by the clan, you must follow the orders and rules set by the Event Marshals. Failure to do so may result in punishment. Event Marshals have the power to punish normal members, including those of political rank.
Joining An Event
To join an event hosted by the clan, you first must go to the
Event Schedule
forum. As soon as you click on this link, there will be a list of upcoming events for the week. Once you click on the event you would like to see in more detail, you will notice that all events that are scheduled are displayed in a standard format
Event Template
As you can see all events hosted by the Event Marshals are hosted in a uniformed manner. You shouldn't have a problem with the information. If you do, ask a question by replying. You can also pm one of the event leaders.
After you get all your information, you should know where and when (check your timezone!) to meet in Runescape. Bring a Team-9 cape. If you're lost, try contacting one of the leaders. Once you know you've met up with the clan, add as many people as possible from the clan. From this point you must follow the orders and rules set by the Event Marshals.
Note: Grand Masters and other high ranked members may also lead an event. These new leaders of the event are still to be respected, and you must follow the rules and orders of these members.
Joining An Unofficial Event
These are events that haven't been approved by Event Marshals. Remember that taking part of these events still requires you to follow rules and orders from the leader of an event. Going to these events is at your own risk, so you can't complain if something unjust had happened during the event when no high ranked member was present.
Making Your Own Event
You need approval from an event leader to host an event, and you
MUST represent the event in the right template:
Event Template
In order to have an event approved, you must first host the event in the
Clan Discussions
forum. Then ask for the approval of the event. You may also PM one of the event leaders to start your event. More people are likely to attend your event if you start a thread 2 weeks in advance. If you host your event a week in advance, there is a smaller chance of a large attendance and a smaller chance of an Event Marshal approving it. Remember that your event may be interfering with another event.
When hosting an event you must agree with any rules added by an Event Marshal. An Event Marshal has the right to cut off an event at any time.
Note: If you declare your event has been approved, and no one has approved it, you will be punished!
Time Zone
We are aware that all members are from different parts of the world. All events that are hosted should try to include as many time zones as possible (Include means make them at a reasonable time). The standard time zones for the Templar Guardians are Greenwich Mean Time, or GMT and Eastern US time, or EST. Always make sure you are aware in which time zone the event timings are being presented in. All events should be hosted with a GMT time and EST time. Here is a link for further detail about time zone:
Time Zones
Note: There are two clocks at the top of our main forum page with the GMT and EST time for your convenience. They are our official clan time, and
ALL events follow those time. Generally, Event times are made to suit both European and American time zones.
Extras
We generally like to post pictures of our events. We highly suggest you take as many pictures as you can during events, and post a few of them on the forum. We may post your picture onto the official Pictures page

Pking Rules and Commands
The rules and commands that you must follow can be found here:
Pictures
Event Codes
These codes will be used to give commands quickly when the Leadership does not have the time to waste spelling out what to do. They are all fairly easy to remember since they are simply abbreviations, but you may want to keep this up during PK trips because these are vitally important to follow. If, during a trip, a leader yells out a command you do not know what it means, our best advice is follow what others do.
E.g. If the leader of the event says "dd" and everyone in the clan gets on the same space as them, what do you think you are supposed to do? It may sound obvious, but some people don't use this much common sense.
- "rrrrrrrrr" (multiple r's...doesn't matter how many)- Retreat- Get out of the wild. You should scatter into small groups and run for south towards the non-wilderness area. Your job while you do this is to try on separate the people following, but still stay with one or two people so as to not put yourself in any danger.
- "po"- Pull out- Pull out of the fight you are in. A name or combat level can be put after this command to tell what person to stop attacking.
-
"Tg on"- Attack. Once again, a name or combat level can be added beside any of these.
- "dd"- Death Dot- Get on the same square that the person saying it is on. This tactic is used so that the clan appears smaller than it actually is on the minimap.
- "Mute"- Makes everyone other than Grand Masters, Event Marshals, Council, or the person who is leading the trip shut up unless they have something important to say (for example "Hey, I keep seeing a white dot right on the southern edge of my minimap. We’re being followed!"). A name can also be put on the end of the command in order to make the person stop talking.
- "Unmute"- Allows all conversation relating to PK trip. If you abuse it you will be muted again, so don't do it. A name can also be put on the end.
- "Rif"- Run if needed. This lets members decide to run if they are very low on food. Please do not abuse it; only retreat if you have few health regaining items left. If you would like, you may ask other members for items that you may need, but please don't abuse this privilege either, don't start begging.
- "Tg fall in" - Fall in on or follow the leader of the event. If you are attacking, or doing any other sort of action, you must stop, and follow the person in charge.

IRC
What is IRC? IRC is basically our chatroom.
IRC is becoming more and more mandatory. It is a large part of the clan. Joining during events is not obligatory but it will help communicate. Here is how you can do it painlessly.
----Pick Your Client
Here are several clients I recommend. They are in order from best to worst. They are all 100% Malware free, and some of them you do not even have to download.
- Swift Kit Link
This popular RS client is the newer version of SwiftSwitch by Strider3282 and has an IRC client built in. It is Windows only and must be downloaded.
- X-Chat Aqua (Mac only) Link
This is a downloadable IRC client for Mac. It is stable and easy to use.
- Tiko Link
This is a web-based IRC client. It has features very similar to SK, but it is less stable. If you have a fairly slow computer, I recommend that you run RS in low detail, especially during dangerous events.
Mac users- Note that this will not work using Safari. I suggest using Camino Link or Firefox to use it.
- Web-based IRC Link
Rather unstable, but if you can't download anything and want it in a separate window, this client is the best way to go.
- Forums PJI-IRC (PJI-IRC: Link)
This client will automatically connect you to SwiftIRC and join our channel. Your nick will be set to TG_Guest. You may change it (Look below). This link is also provided by clicking on #TG_Public underneath the Requirements section which is found under the banner. Note that you should not use your browser's refresh button while using this IRC client. Also note that it is less stable than a downloadable client.
------ Registering your nick
Use the following page for instructions on registering your nick. These instructions are for using SwiftKit, but they will work for any Client.
Link
------ Joining our channel
Replace words in capitals with the real thing.
1. Type /server irc.swiftirc.net (SS users skip this).
2. If your nick is registered, log in to your nick using /nick NICKNAME, then /msg nickserv identify PASSWORD OR /ns id PASSWORD
3. Join our public channel using /join #TG_Public. It should open in a new tab or window, depending on your IRC client.
